The existing experience was to send the customer an email with an introduction to a story along with many product listings, leading to a companion landing page containing the balance of the primary story. My recommendation was to reverse this approach—make the email just an announcement card and put all the material on the landing page. This solves many problems, including the declining readership of emails, inability to track and measure readership and response, limited technology of email readers.
